The Best Part of My Month: DriveCrate

DriveCrate is a Formula One subscription box available to fans worldwide. They curate themed boxes based around events during the season. Each box contains handpicked items relating to F1. It can be anything from team merch to race-themed treats. One box is delivered each month and the theme relates to the races closest to the delivery date.

I subscribed for the first time in January of this year and I have no regrets.

The first box I received was one that they send to all of their new subscribers. One box was all it took to convince me to keep the subscription. The candy included was amazing, it was like Starburst but better. I’m obsessed with the steering wheel enamel pin. I love socks so the grid socks were probably my favorite. I’m not a huge hat person but I love the one that came with this box. A close second for my favorite item in the box was the circuit sign. I don’t know if it’s random or not (I don’t think it is) but mine was a Monaco sign and I love it.

The second box I received was preseason testing themed. The first box was delivered on a Friday so I drove home for the weekend to get it. This one came in on a Wednesday. I raced home after my last class of the day to eat dinner and pick it up. This box had more socks so it was already a winner in my eyes. Then I saw the McLaren mug and I knew I would never be able to cancel this subscription. There was also a bag of chocolate-covered pretzels, a candy bar, a bottle opener, and a Pierre Gasly photo in this box.

Of the three boxes I’ve received, the Australia box has been my favorite. It felt like DriveCrate knew that I was going abroad this summer because they included an F1 passport cover. This box added a second circuit sign to my collection, an Albert Park sign. There was also a drawstring bag, a magnet, and a George Russell print. What solidified this box as my favorite? The TimTams. I knew what TimTams were before but now that I’ve had them, I’m obsessed. I have to find a place in the States to buy them now because they were good.

The Miami-themed box arrived the same day I moved back home for the summer. It was the best present after finishing all my finals for the semester. The inclusion of a Miami Beach circuit sign means I’m now a collector so hopefully there’s more in the future. This box featured another pair of socks and a lights-out enamel pin. This box also added another hat to my collection and this one might be my favorite. It’s a green Aston Martin hat and I love it because the fit is perfect. The snack in this box was tropical-flavored Mike and Ikes. I’ve never had them before but I might have to start picking up a box periodically.

I have a few things I’d like to see in future boxes if DriveCrate is taking suggestions. The biggest request is a bucket hat. Almost all of the teams have one now and I would give anything for one to come in a future box. I would also love to see a water bottle or cup of some kind. I love drinkware so it would be cool to add some F1 drinkware to my collection.

If they are taking requests for themes the one I would ask for would be a rookie-themed box. My only other idea would be a Vegas box but I have a feeling I’ll be seeing one at the end of the year.

I just got an email that the May box is Monaco themed. I can only hope that there is something Charles Leclerc or Ferrari related! I can’t wait for it to arrive!!
